Research Is How We Close the Gap.

Your Support Makes It Possible.

The Julian Bond Institute for Financial Equity Research exists because the financial system's most consequential gaps are also its least documented. JBI produces the research that policymakers need to act, the data that advocates need to build the case, and the community-grounded evidence that the financial system cannot ignore. None of that happens without sustained support.

JBI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 74-3043913. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. JBI is an initiative of the Center for Responsible Lending.

View JBI's Research Approach

Economic exclusion and political exclusion reinforce each other. The work of financial equity is the work of civil rights — and that work requires research that the financial system cannot ignore.

Named for Julian Bond — civil rights leader, SNCC co-founder, NAACP chairman, and founding board member of the Center for Responsible Lending (1940–2015)
